Josh Chao, Registered Physiotherapist
Josh received his Master of Physical Therapy from the University of British Columbia. He holds AIM Orthopedic Level 1 Manual Therapy and APTEI Pain Truth certifications.
Before entering the UBC MPT program, Josh worked in the rehab department at a long-term care facility. His three years there provided him with a love for working with older adults - especially those living with dementia - and a gentle approach to care. He believes that compassion and a good ear are the most important ingredients for establishing strong relationships with his patients.
Josh's passion for exercise is born from an active childhood; he played a multitude of sports including soccer, baseball, skiing, and hockey. Hockey occupied the majority of his interest, and he kept his skates sharp for 10 years before hanging them up just prior to the beginning of his post-secondary education.
Josh’s interests include weightlifting, running, chess, and classical music. He encourages everyone to talk to him about any of them.
