Concussion Rehabilitation

Concussions can arise from either direct (blow to the head) or indirect (MVA, fall) trauma    Physiotherapists with additional training in concussion management are able to recognize, assess, and treat the various symptoms associated with an acute concussion and post concussive syndrome (PCS) through the use of vision therapy, vestibular rehabilitation, cardiovascular exercise, and modification of activities.  

 

 

Typical symptoms of a concussion:

- headache

- dizziness

- nausea

- altered sensation

- light sensitivity

- noise sensitivity

- memory difficulties

- slow cognitive processing

- poor balance

- decreased tolerance to visual stimuli such as reading or watching TV
